Walking Bum in Makati City

Who likes Mondays? Not me. And because of this I am not in the mood to write another lengthy entry about Negros Oriental right now, so I will leave you with a candid video of myself.

The unsuspecting me didn’t know Dutchman was filming from the back (he is filming every/anyone, every/anything, and every/anywhere he fancies!). Moreover, I didn’t know he has a... uh... bum obsession? Er, fetish perhaps? Haha


This was taken in Greenbelt, Makati City (Manila, Philippines) the afternoon we arrived Manila after depositing our baggage in the hotel. As you can see on the short video I am in a hurry. It was a sizzling hot day! Sweating. Sticky feeling. I am being baked under the sun. In Visayan lingo: ALIMU-OT KAAYO

Next entry will still be and last of Negros Oriental. The unsullied villages, the friendly people, interesting events and just wonderful stuff.

My friend Bubbles, who I was travelling with within the Balkans had a request that we stop over at Medjugorje. Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion. This legendary scene is called ‘Samudra Manthan’ in other words in English – the ‘Churning of the Ocean of Milk’. Shanghai’s 5-Kilometer “Nanjing Road” is World’s Longest Shopping Street

For the traveller or tourist who is keen to shop and engage in the modern Shanghainese shopping lifestyle experience, the answer is a visit to Nanjing Road. I suggest multiple visits since this shopping street is 5-kilometers long! Shopping during travelling does not sit high up on my list. I do buy stuff but they are mostly a by-product of my travel activities. I do not travel to shop nor is it a travel activity. But I am always curious about shopping streets in large cities. I want to see what it looks like, what kind of stores they have, what products offer, perhaps there is a café on the corner street that I can sit and have a drink whilst I watch people go about with their shopping? Yup, that's more like it, my kind of game =) Such as when I was in Copenhagen, I sat on this nice cafe restaurant on a corner of Stroget, which is the longest shopping street in Denmark and just watched people.
