Greek Dinner in Anaxos: Lamb Kleftiko

I always like to go local all the way, in the country that I am holidaying in, especially when it comes to food matters. So one evening during our Lesvos Greek Island summer holiday, I ordered a typical Greek meat dish that I have been eyeing on the menu—‘Lamb Kleftiko’

Lamb Kleftiko

It was very good and I enjoyed it a lot while the not-so-adventurous-when-it-comes-to-food Dutchman had a burger because it was the most familiar dish in the menu that he can relate to (sigh, sometimes you can NOT teach old dogs new tricks).

We had our dinner at Restaurant Klimataria located below the Anaxos Hill. We just came back from a road trip with the rental scooter and had earlier made decisions to dine at this particular restaurant because it is beautifully situated on the beach with the hilly backdrop. We managed to catch the breath taking sunset as well.

Our waiter was quite charming. He amused us with the few Dutch words he learned from the many visiting Dutch holidaymakers that came to dine at the restaurant. A quick learner I suppose and a good host. We made sure we tipped =)

Lamb kleftiko, cucumber and tomato salad, some bread, Greek coffee, Greek yogurt with blackstrap molasses (I think). Not in the picture is Dutchman's burger =).
