Octopus dinner at Octopus Restaurant in Molyvos Harbour

This is one of our lovely dinners in Lesvos Island that I will not quickly forget.

This picture has quickly become my favourite picture =)

This is the Octopus Restaurant in the harbour.

Dutchman and I first had a stroll on the harbour while admiring the picturesque waterfront, the lovely view of the restaurants getting busier by the hour and the imposing castle crowning the town of Mithymna, also known previously as Molyvos.

In this summer holiday I ate a lot of octopus and what better way to have dinner at a namesake restaurant and eat grilled octopus! Yes, the restaurant is called ‘Octopus’ and it’s located at the tail end of the harbour just before the harbour seawall.

From the restaurant we have the most magnificent view of the town, the castle sitting on top. In the evening it looks like a glowing golden crown. Simply breath taking.

Octopus food is a Mediterranean treat, very popular not only in Greece but in Spain as well. Here is a blogpost I wrote 2 years ago about one of our octopus dinners when Dutchman and I summer holidayed in Malaga, Spain—Gastronomic Spain: Pulpo a la Gallega, Almejas a la Marinera, Flan de Huevo

Grilled octopus with lemon.

Deep fried aubergine.

Dutchman had some meat for dinner which I did not take a picture.

Perfect setting and view for a romantic dinner.

Dessert from the restaurant: delicious loukoumades

To finish the evening we hopped over to another restaurant situated on the busier part of the waterfront for coffee and did some people watching, of course =)

I love summer holidays.
