How to get to The Peak in Hong Kong by Bus

A lot of people visiting Hong Kong are sucked into riding the awfully touristy Peak Tram to get to Victoria Peak. A much better alternative which will give you beautiful panoramic views of Hong Kong and a much more exhilarating zigzagged ride is Bus #15.

Bus 15 at Central: The Peak Bus

The bus station is located at Central Exchange Square in Central.

Do try getting the left front seat on the double deck for the best vantage point. You will not regret this when the bus climbs the mountain surprising you with the stunning Hong Kong skyline at your feet. Just make sure you hold on tight to the bars in front of you (see the green thing in below picture) because these notorious Hong Kong bus drivers are lethal. You do not want to be all bruised up by the time the bus reached The Peak.

Here is the video I took during the bus ride.

It was a very jampacked ride with so many mainland Chinese tourists (August seems to be the month when mainland Chinese people go en masse to HK?), so this is probably not the best example, but you get the point.

Another thing, the bus is cheaper!

This is what was waiting for us when we arrived at the top:
