Corfu, Greece: Agios Stefanos (North West) Beach Resort

Agios Stefanos Beach

There are 2 Agios Stefanos Beach Resorts in Corfu. This one that I am posting for this entry is located in Esperies, in the north western coast of the island, whilst the other one is located in the north eastern part.

Both resorts are a stark contrast from each other. The north eastern one is rather traditional. It is a small, cosy and an inlet bay kind of resort. The lovely atmosphere was just perfect. I had one of my best dinner setting here on a jetty. This beach resort is obviously one of my favourites.

The north western sister on the other hand has a more modern ambiance. The resort is also quite spread out as many shops, tavernas, cafes, bakeries and grocery stores are located a bit far from the beach. It is approximately a 5-minute drive from the town centre to the beach. Definitely not walking distance at all, not with the heat of the sun glaring at you. The beach though is quite long, wide and sandy, with many sunbeds and parasols on offer.

We did not stayed long at this beach though. I do not know why but we were not really drawn to it. There was no click. Some places have that effect on you sometimes. I however managed to take a few shots whilst there.

This is the route from Kato Korakiana where we were based to Agios Stefanos north west:

You can move the map by holding it with your mouse, as well as zoom it in and out by clicking on the + and - signs on the lower right hand.

The centre of Agios Stefanos is not directly linked to the beach site. You will have to travel a bit further down to the beach, which is about a 5-minute drive.

We always wear our helmets when riding the scooter. Firstly for safety reasons and secondly, the Greek police can fine you. I heard fines can go up to 350 Euros!

Brown algae gather on the shores of the beach.

We were hoping to stay here for a few hours but we decided to move on.

You will never be short of sunbeds and parasols on offer, especially in June and early July.

Our scooter is parked in between the quads. Quads are cool but you cannot travel far with them as they tend to go real slow.

Corfu is very green.
