Food Trucks in Old Port (Vieux Port) Montreal: Tacos and Lobster Rolls

I have heard about the food trucks in Montreal so I did a little bit of research as I was worried that they'd be nowhere to be found in autumn.

Luckily, we parked in the Old Port (Vieux Port) of Montreal, and as we walked towards the Promenade du Vieux-Port along the Bassin Bonsecours, we found the first set of food trucks. We just arrived so my niece AnK and I took note of their location.

As we walked further along the promenade admiring the lively scenery around us and the beautiful sunny weather (too good to be true for October), we reached the other side of the port near Rue McGill and saw another set of food trucks. One of them was Muvbox Homard (lobster), offering what else, yummylicious lobster roll sandwiches. I remember reading about this food truck and realised that I have just found the one that I am looking for! So I told AnK that I want a lobster roll from Muvbox, but that would be later, for lunch. We will come back.

True enough to my promise, although a bit late for lunch, we came back to Muvbox for my lobster roll sandwich, only to find out that they are sold out. ARGH. I was so gutted. I wanted to throw a tantrum but decided not to as it would not be too flattering for my age. With much disappointment, I settled for Taco Box food truck beside it, which I think belong to the same owner. I did a last attempt and ordered their lobster taco but they too have sold out their lobsters. The lady behind the counter told us that their sister food truck took all their lobster inventory.

I had no idea what to order so I left it at the hands of the lady who told me that their bestseller taco is the Chorizo Taco. It is made of homemade chorizo con pappas, chimichurri and queso fresco. This taco was quite nice but perhaps a bit too salty. They have set menus as well which includes a portion of nachos. I didn't take the set menu though as it was too much for me.

This has somewhat broke my heart a bit. I wanted the lobster roll sandwich so bad. I was so looking forward to it. I even dreamt about it!

Somehow, some way, maybe another day, I will have my lobster roll sandwich on this holiday.

The 2 locations of the food trucks in the Old Port of Montreal. They are located on both ends of the Old Port.

The food trucks I believe are only open between May and September. I was there in late September. I came back sometime in early October, hoping to get a lobster roll bite, but they were already closed for the season.

*Sigh* You cannot have everything in life.

These are the food trucks on Promenade du Vieux-Port near Bassin Bonsecours.

A good place to eat, what with those wooden bench tables.

There was also a lobster box on the Promenade du Vieux-Port area.

The 'Chorizo Taco' is the bestseller of Taco Box.

This is our view, an old factory building, whilst eating the taco.
