Breakfast at Le Café Pouchkine in Paris

Bonjour, Bonsoir everyone =)

Le Cafe Pouchkine.

One of the places in Paris that I have been wanting to visit is the aristocratically designed Café Pouchkine. The café on Place de la Madeleine is grand and oozing with old world charm. The interior design and furnishings will bring you back to the time when Faberge eggs were still produced for the happy few.

Russia meets France. A fusion of food, design, and flair.

So I combined our visit here with breakfast. We were shown to our table on the first floor of the café restaurant and before we could even go over with the menu, Pinpin and I went gaga taking pictures, haha. What can I say, we have a very nicely situated table and there is a big Christmas tree just a meter away, a great excuse for a lovely backdrop when posing.

They have 4 menus:

1) Breakfast menu  2) Complete menu  3) Russian menu and a  4) Bar menu

Not a big breakfast eater here I am afraid, so I ordered a breakfast set of 3 Viennese pastries, a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and pot of hot Earl Grey tea. The pastries were small so they were enough for 1 person. They were not too sweet as well which played well with my taste buds.

Pinpin wanted something warm so she chose an omelet which arrived very fluffy and foaming.

We enjoyed this breakfast. The setting is very opulent and we like that, which is the reason why we came here in the first place. But I can also very much tell that the pastries were of very high quality. They were delicious too, and of course, they all came with a price.

The café is open at 08:30 so just perfect for breakfast and morning snacks but when it's not that busy yet. Towards lunchtime and in the afternoon, you will need at least 15 minutes queuing up time before you are seated. So the best bet is to come early! Have breakfast like we did.

There are 4 Café Pouchkine’s in the city but the best café with the amazing grand old interior is the one at Place de la Madeleine.

The patisserie shop for takeaways is not to be missed as well.

Getting ready to order our breakfast.

That's an antique bronze clock on the mantelpiece (on our backs).

Frothy cappuccino.

The 3 Viennese pastries.

Fluffy and foamy omelet.

Pinpin and moi. Just look at this grandiose staircase.

On the ground floor of the cafe.

The bar/library area on the ground floor is where you can find the old world charm toilet.

The beautiful patissserie shop.

Tempting patisseries at the shop.
