Here is a photo essay of the beautiful sunny and blue skies day in the French Alps when we went skiing to Les Carroz d'Araches village. For this blog entry, I will shut up and let the pictures do the talking. It is not always easy when the slopes go flat. Push, push, push. I am waiting here for the Dutchman as he had trouble pushing through with the snowboard on a flat slope. When this happens, most of the snowboarders take off their planks and walk. Dutchman and I took these pictures during our day skiing to Les Carroz which is located in the Massif part of the Grand Massif ski terrain in the northern part of the French Alps. Can you spot the skiers and snowboarders? If you ski, or if you want to learn skiing, you would really need to be prepared to face heights. And not just being on top of the mountain 2,000 metres above sea level, but being high up on a cable in an open-air chair lift as well. Some lifts are not that high, but the lifts here in the Grand Massif ski resort surprisingly were and quite long as well. This is a scary thought to even entertain but I have known a few people who have fallen off from the cable lift and cabin. An ex-colleague of mine for example had a traumatic accident. His kid fell out of a chair lift, and luckily, the child survived. Taking on the lifts is not something to be nonchalant about, one must exercise utmost precaution and security. Just a few pictures of Les Carroz village in the French Alps for this blog entry. Les Carroz is one of the 5 villages in the Grand Massif ski area in the French Alps. Dutchman and I skied here from Flaine and I took a little break in one of the terraces, at the K Alpine Lounge Restaurant  whilst Dutchman went for another (off) slope run. The village is situated on a plateau at 1140m above sea level and is facing Mont Blanc. Unlike Flaine, the houses here are traditional, in wooden chalet Haute Savoyard style which is typical in the alpine mountains. It is not a ski village purposely built for wintersport holiday. It is an alpine village to begin with. Les Carroz has been here all the time, but it has evolved and has transformed through the years, catering these days to tourism, in particular wintersport.
