So I took gazillions of pictures of Parga when Dutchman and I visited this seaside resort on the western coast of mainland Greece last year. We came with the boat from Corfu Island. I took lots of pictures of the waterfront boulevard with the colourful houses and the super busy Krioneri Beach . Then I went up to the castle ruins to catch a panoramic view of the seaside resort and what else, took more countless photos. Whilst meandering the narrow and hilly back streets of Parga which are bursting with shops, tavernas and more shops and tavernas, I made sure as well to document these with pictures. Taking massive amounts of pictures has become a habit of mine when I am holidaying, discovering a new place and experiencing new stuff. It has become an auto pilot thing that I have truly and really learned to love. I am glad I have this blog to post my pictures and share to everyone. I really am. Dutchman and I took a day boat trip to Parga from Corfu Island last summer. The seaside town is colourful and beautiful especially when you view it from an aerial perspective. In order to do this, one must climb all the the way up to the Parga castle ruins. Just follow the inner winding shopping cobbled street going up and then turn left to the castle ruins. There’s a café at the top where one can enjoy a drink while taking in the fantastic panoramic view of Parga. Ah, I could just sit here for a long time you know but the Dutchman is waiting for me down at the harbour. Helaas. *reality wake up* Parga is located in mainland Greece, on the north western part facing the Ionian Sea. Ah, Dutchman and I cannot wait to go back to the Greek Islands this summer! The first picture above was taken from the top of the castle ruins. So for now we can only look back to our last year’s pictures... and drool (ugh). Parga however is not an island. It is a coastal town in mainland Greece facing the Ionian Sea. We came here with the boat from Corfu Island, sailing from the capital, Kerkyra via Paxos. This was a very nice day trip with the boat. Krioneri (or Piso Krioneri) Beach is the main beach of Parga which is located just beside the harbour and centrum. It is facing the popular Virgin Mary Island that you can swim to from the shore. You can also take a pedal boat if swimming is not your forte.
