Formaggio in Verona

So I’m back in the Netherlands today and I was surprised to see sunny weather greeting me at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

I have 500 fotos from this Italy trip that I have just uploaded to my Picasa tonight. I had to delete so many fotos in order to accommodate new ones which is a bummer really. Time for a new foto camera! In the coming days I will be working on them and eventually posting the interesting ones here in my blog.

On our first night in Piazza delle Erbe, Verona: A fine selection of Italian cheeses and jam/honey paired with Valpolicella wine produced in the Veneto region. My favorite here is the Grana cheese, second from the left.

The trip was amazing! Blondine and I flew into Verona and stayed there for 2 nights, and then we took the train to Venice and stayed in the water city for another 2 nights as well. We also did a side trip to Murano and Burano while in Venice, the city’s very popular islands to visit in the lagoon.

We’ve had enough of expensive Venice so we took the train back to Verona and rented a car and drove to Sirmione in Lake Garda for lunch which is already in another region called Lombardy and then retreated back to Veneto region for some relaxing and breathtaking views on top of the hills of the Valpolicella wine producing area precisely in San Giorgio di Valpolicella. We stayed here for a night and had dinner in a very cosy local restaurant away from the hordes of tourists. *sigh of relief*

Beautiful fotos coming soon!
