National Geographic's Augmented Reality at Utrecht Centraal Station, the Netherlands

Last October National Geographic paid a visit at Utrecht Centraal Station with a little exhibition and a live broadcast show of their version of Augmented Reality.

What is Augmented Reality or AR?

Wikipedia says it is a live, direct or indirect, view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. In short, its like walking with Jesus on water or with Neil Armstrong on the moon. Here is the explanation from National Geographic: Augmented Reality

Now allow me to become your Augmented Reality model of the day =)

Oh, hello there Mr. Astronaut, nice to meet you! Would you like to shake my hand...?

Unfortunately Mr. Astronaut just ignored me so I tried waving at him. He just passed by without seeing me =(

Before we proceed with the rest of the pictures, have a look here at what live augmented reality looks like with this video of moi taken at Utrecht Centraal Station in a live broadcast of National Geographic's own version of augmented reality:

I know I suck; but I did try my best. Helaas, acting and moi will never be bestfriends.

So let us stick with the pictures okay? Now, lookie who came next? Little kiddie dinos.... and a big rhinoceros! Oooh I am so scared... lol

Then popped the mother dino in.... what, she is really humongous! I think she fancies me and wants to eat me alive? HEEEELP! (can you see my I-am-so-scared acting? haha)

MUNCH. GRUB. I think the mother dinosaur just ate me.

Ah, well... she was just teasing. My head is still attached to my body.

Now that mother dino is gone, the weather is angry. Where is my darn umbrella?

Cool huh? Thank you National Geographic for entertaining us at Utrecht Centraal Station.

Thanks to the Dutchman as well for being my impromptu photographer and videographer =)
