This is a photo essay of the nature spots we saw on Lokrum Island in Dubrovnik.

To learn more about the history of the island, go here to my earlier post: Lokrum Island (Croatia): Benedictine Abbey Ruins, Annunciation Church and Game of Thrones

We managed to check out a rocky shore of the island with a small private harbour and beautiful rock formations. Then we also saw the Dead Sea, a very nice secret lake beach that is linked to the sea. During the warmer months, people swim here.

Enjoy the pictures! Next post is our delicious lunch - the best food we have eaten in this Balkan trip.

It looks like some boats (sneak to) dock in this area which is forbidden since the only legal access to the island is via the small harbour Portoc.

Angry waves, stunning rocks and an empty harbour.

This is the Dead Sea in Lokrum Island:

The view of the Dead Sea from the other side, from the rocky cliff.

Beautiful rock formations.

Some people are more adventurous, they court danger or they are just not afraid of heights and falling into the sea!

I was just curious how the back of a peacock would look like when he fans his tail =)

The locals of Lokrum. Many peacocks here!
