Scape Skydeck Dinner in Mactan, Cebu, Philippines

This is a bit of a very late post. This dinner was my last dinner in Cebu, just after Christmas.

Scape Skydeck view in Mactan Island, Cebu.

We are Asians - Filipinos, so it's all about sharing the food.

The family is going to Vietnam, well my parents, my sister and I are flying to Ho Chi Minh City later on the same evening, so we decided to have dinner not too far away from the airport.

I heard about this restaurant and its rooftop so we quickly made arrangements to eat here.

The restaurant is located on top of this building, the Azon Residences.

I cannot remember where I found the Scape Skydeck Restaurant but it was a very good choice for my last night in Cebu.

In order for us to see the views, we made sure to arrive here earlier while there is still daylight. In the Philippines, the sun sets down pretty early, between 17:20 and 17:40 depending on the time of the ear. By 18:00 it is already dark.

Parking is an issue here and since we came with 3 vehicles we had to make arrangements. The security guards of the Azon Residences were very helpful though. They even watched over our luggage on the back of the pick-up truck. My parents, my sister and I will be travelling to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam for a week's holiday so this is a sending off dinner for them and a going away dinner for me since after Vietnam I am flying back to the Netherlands via Taiwan.

What I love about this place is that they kept the roof deck is open. No closed areas with airconditioners. That would have spoiled the fun, which, well trust me, happens a lot in good old the Philippines. Filipinos and air conditioners go hand in hand. That is why the chilly malls are very popular. Luckily this restaurant knows alfresco is the way to go.

The restaurant managed to keep a fresh theme as well by using artificial grass carpet flooring and vertical green gardens, also artificial, as walls. The patio effect design with modern pergola style incorporation was nicely executed.

We ordered quite a bit of everything. Italian, Asian, well anything goes really. The food was very good so we have nothing to complain.

Below are our pictures...

Open rooftop terrace.

SisterJ and the mother.

View to Cebu City and you can see the new bridge connecting Mactan and Cebu islands.

They are figuring out what to order...

Their version of the famous Ceasar Salad with a ring for its toasted bread.

Warm lemoncito drink and chilled mango juice, the lemoncito drink you can only find in the Philippines.

Nachos with all the needed toppings it can ask for.

A few months later they moved to New Zealand.

Someone ordered thin-crusted pizza with olives.

And pasta with Alfredo sauce that came with a warm flatbread.

If there's Alfredo, there must be Bolognese as well!

This family likes chicken, so sticky buffalo wings to the rescue with blue cheese dip.

The food sharing concept is truly Asian.

Delicious spring rolls dipped in sweet vinegar. Yum!

The gathering is not complete without the pictures.

All of us inside the lift!
