Cafe HAVANA
Hey everyone! I am finally in busy and polluted Manila! Oh God, it's terrible... the maniacal traffic and unadulterated pollution is driving us nuts, lol. But, but I am absolutely happy to be finally back HOME.
Before I further jump into my culture shock litany of entries, I have some really spicy news to share: Cafe HAVANA in Greenbelt Makati, the meeting point to watch, a MUST. The place is screaming and flying with hookers!!!!
In the mornings the place is usually quiet. Innocent and scrupulous under the tropical sun. The metamorphosis begins around 7PM, right after dinner when guests, mostly foreigners flock. The cafe-retaurant turns into bar in the evening.
Aliens in all ages, colours, sizes and what have you, frolic openly with these notorious creatures. If we scaled these women from 1 to 10 on beauty, body and personality, many are between 0 and 6. (edit: although recently you can see really good looking ones)
I guess I am in shock state... to see the meat trade unfold right before my very eyes in Cafe Havana. Quite interesting, educational and fun too, I admit, lol.
Tomorrow, we are off to Cebu, then to the paradise island for our Christmas retreat.

PS: FPJ (Fernando Poe Jr, the ex presidential candidate and ex action, the king moviestar) just died yesterday.
That's soo true, and hilarious! We avoid the lower floor of Gbelt like the plague as the last time we hung out at Seattle's Best, our foreign friends got "propositioned" soo many times, we were tallying them on a sheet to see who got the most :)
ReplyDeleteya i know!!!! even the old smelly balding farts weighing 300 lbs are "marketable". have even seen a couple of them declining a few ugly hookers coz they know that there are so much better looking and fresh MEAT to choose! hahaha

ReplyDeleteyung mga prosti sa cafe havana ang sama ng mga itsura mukhang mga goons. they look like the ones you see in ermita before the clean up, or was there ever a clean up?
ReplyDeletenah, i didnt know about this prosti thing in havana café..good to know! groundfloor is not my fave hiding place...with my thai colleagues, im forced to stay at 1st floor, the oddles or something-like-that resto..burk!

warren, i was in HK 2 years ago. traffic there for me was nightmarish but pollution comparing to manila would be 10 years behind. is it horrible now?

AnP, i know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can relate, i too sometimes get defensive haha, though i always try to be more logical but sometimes it just pricks to your nerves! you're going home too! wowie, our december is warm hehe.

i am a white dude and just recently stayed at the intercontinental. they told me and my friends to go there. what a scene. every girl in the place was coming up to us and grabbing us grinding on us etc. low class and annoying to say the least. entertaining though.

ReplyDeleteI really wish I'd run into this blog sooner than later. I'm really naive when it comes to these things. How can you tell if a person is a pok pok or simply a young lady looking for a dance? I've been to el Cafe three times now and haven't noticed anything/ anyone pok pok...
ReplyDeleteWell, Havana was the chill spot in the old days, I usually go there with my sisters and friends, and these days with my husband. We love to dance and I am a fan of Latin music. It's just unfortunate to see OUR FELLOW PINOY going so low like that - prosititution...but there are a few great people who hangs out in Havana NOT to get laid nor find their money made but just to hang out. If you cant stomach the scene then dont go there. But hey, if you are just up for some great fun without getting involve with vagrancy then just CHILL honey. Let's not judge these girls for what they do, let them DO their own thang...unless they get in your case then hell you can spread your gospel to the world. Lucky for you Ms Dutch Pinay, YOU ARE NOT IN THEIR SHOES. Btw, nice boots.

ReplyDeleteMy foreign husband and I decided to try the famous Mojitos of Cafe Havana, and I myself witnessed bunches of " ladies" inside the said vicinity. In front of my face, one of this lady tried to negoatiate with my husband and i approached and told her " this is my man, my husband, try to mess it up and you will see the bitch out of me, so back off"
ReplyDeleteI dont have any predujism against these ladies, nowadays, you will never know which is which the so-called perennial whores. I cant blame Dutched Pinay, she had witnessed the other side of face of filipinas, and i couldnt blame either the prostitutes like a hoard of flies inside that Cafe Havana, my piece of advise, if you are an ordinary woman who has no plan to hook up with foreign guys, once you go inside that bar, make sure you dress properly, you speak properly and be finesse enough so that people wont think you are a prostitute. And for these selling flesh ladies, since this is your chosen path, give your best shot out of it, learn to be a high class bootycall girls, it wont hurt your ego,it will still boost your morale that even you are selling flesh to these foreigners, atleast, they can give a great comment that wether you are a prostitute or an educated woman, Filipinas are still the excellent asian lovers. Go Pinay!!
