Panoramic Views of Ljubljana (Slovenia) from the Ljubljana Castle Tower
You are not the only one wondering how to pronounce this city: LJUBLJANA =)
Ljubljana pronounced as ‘loob-lee-yaa-na’ is the capital of Slovenia. Slovenia together with Croatia and the rest of the Balkans were once part of the then Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which I remember vividly when I was in elementary school having to memorise all the countries in the world. Thirty something years ago Slovenia as a country did not exist but only as a people—the Slovenes.

I will post another time about the fascinating history of this country so for now I will leave you with panoramic views of its funky named capital city.
The pictures were taken from the top of the Ljubljana Castle Tower. The castle is free to get in and roam around but certain exhibits and this tower you will have to pay an entrance free. Definitely worth it the few euros! Oh, Slovenia is a euro currency country as well =)
Ljubljana is one of the most beautiful small and compact European cities that I have visited. Just a charm and a beauty. I was so happy to have seen and experienced her. I promise, more about her soon!

Up close and personal shot of the city centre and the famous Triple Bridge (because yes, its three bridges in one).

The iron stairs with engraving leading to the tower terrace.
You can walk all the way up to the castle or take the funicular.
View of the inner castle grounds and to the modern part of the city.
Asian tourists are everywhere I reckon =)
You can see Park Zvesda. Except for the colours it strutts the British flag lines. My hotel is right on the corner, to the right.
The flag of the Ljubljana Castle flying above the tower.
The promenade along the Ljubljanica River is very spacious and this is really the heart of the city where people hang out.
The Ljubljanica River is an important part, a very integral one of the city and for the Slovenes.
March is still officially winter but the Slovenes I noticed just like the Croats are die-hard terrace worshippers. As you can see outdoor cafe terraces here stay open here even in the winter =)
Tip: When you arrive in Ljubljana, whether it is during the day or night, go straight down to the Ljubljanica River where the happening is.
