Huh, cakes and waffles for lunch? Why not =) I read about this place online while looking for the nearest restaurants to our hotel and one day while taking a stroll on Sathorn Avenue, we discovered this accidentally. I was like -- ‘This is the restaurant bakery I read about online!’ So I came up with the idea that we will have lunch here on our last day in the city. It is just right next door to our hotel . My mom cannot walk that far so this is a great answer to her mobility challenge. We were quite happy to have come here for lunch because their cakes were adorable! I do not have a sweet tooth but I know how to appreciate cakes and pastries that are made well, and I can say that the taste and quality of this bakery are definitely top of the line quality. Since I do not like to eat too much of the sugary stuff, I played safe and ordered the matcha crepe layered cake. This was quite delicious, and indeed not too sweet. My educational background is Fine Arts with a major in Interior Design, so even though I do not practice this for decades anymore, architecture and design will always have a soft spot in my heart. When I found out that M.R. Kukrit’s traditional Thai heritage home is located near our hotel in Sathorn, basically just at the back of our hotel, I was quite ecstatic! It wasn’t really very long ago when I was in Thailand. But when you are busy living your life, time does tend to go so fast, albeit unconciously. My trip together with my parents last November to Thailand seemed so far away now. The elegant Baan Khanitha Thai Cuisine restaurant on Sathorn (business district). Pictures of the King and Queen of Thailand are practically everywhere in the country. Every local Thai establishment pays honour by posting a huge poster of the royal couple, just like this picture outside Baan Khanitha restaurant. Our last evening’s dinner in Bangkok was spent at Baan Khanitha Thai Cuisine . We all didn’t fancy going somewhere so Baan Khanitha restaurant came in handy, located just beside our hotel on Sathorn Avenue.
