I did not have a lot of time when I was in Bristol last March. I was just passing by really as my destination was the traditional and historical Bath, and then the great city of London. Bath does not have an airport and Bristol is the nearest town, so I flew in to Bristol from Amsterdam, afterwards I took the train to Bath. Because I arrived in the morning and my apartment studio in Bath is only available after 14:00 I decided to spend a few hours in Bristol. The driver of the bus that took me from the airport to the city centre was very helpful in giving me tips and directions on where to go for a few hours. Besides the leisurely walk, I managed to have lunch at the No.1 Harbourside Cafe  on the waterfront and took the ferry ride to Hotwells and back  where I saw the iconic Georgian houses  on the floating harbour of Bristol town. After having my smoked cauliflower soup lunch at the terrace of No. 1 Harbourside Café , which incidentally is facing the jetty of Bristol Ferry , I thought I could use some boat sight-seeing. I didn’t really want to walk around any further and I still have an hour to bum around. The ferry sounds like a good idea and it’s just a few metres from where I am seated. Read: lazy. Haha! I managed to time the boats leaving and arriving and realised that it takes approximately 45 minutes for them to come back, giving me the idea actually to opt for this activity. So basically there are 2 boat services going to different destinations. The blue route goes to ‘Temple Meads and Castle Park’ (this is going to the railway station) and the red route goes through the floating harbour to ‘Hotwells and the SS Britain’.
