Netherlands: Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet
The Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet is the first factory outlet in the Netherlands. The prices of mid-range signature goods here are really cheap, offering discounts starting from 30% up to 70%.
I have been here many years ago. It is the nearest factory outlet from Amsterdam, about 50 minutes with the car and an hour+ with the train.
Last month July, I was visiting girlfriend Bru in Kampen and she suggested that we go to Batavia Stad to shop a bit as she needed to buy a few things. I on the other hand do not really have any intentions of shopping, but I obliged. Having just recently started, well succumbed that is, to playing Pokemon Go, I thought it would be the perfect moment to play and find Pokemons there. Well, hoping of course that there are enough Pokestops and Pokemon monsters loitering inside the walls of the factory outlet.
And I know Bru very well when it comes to shopping. She is quite like me somehow, she buys stuff only when she thinks she really needed it. So we will be going into a calculated shopping mode for this trip, haha.
So here are a few things that echoed with me during this visit. I guess more like a reconfirmation perhaps.
Oh, we also had a very nice and healthy salad vegie lunch at La Place. I managed to catch a lot of Pokemons passing by in the restaurant even =)
I cannot complain; it was a nice weekend outing.

- Why is shopping such a bore, er I mean, a chore?
- The constant and unyielding desire of many (materialistic) people wanting to covet this and buy that really disgusts me.
- It did however felt really very good that I did not buy anything.
- Being content is liberating (more so in prosperous times).
- And there were a lot of Pokemon monsters and Pokestops here!!! Haha!

It is under an hour from Amsterdam with the car.
Entrance to Batavia Fashion Outlet.
The shop facades are designed in traditional Dutch-style architecture.
The La Place Restaurant.
Our vegie salad lunches and I had a 0% alcohol Bavaria beer.
It was a beautiful blue skies day!
