England: Pictures of my Leisurely Walk in Bristol

I did not have a lot of time when I was in Bristol last March. I was just passing by really as my destination was the traditional and historical Bath, and then the great city of London.

Bath does not have an airport and Bristol is the nearest town, so I flew in to Bristol from Amsterdam, afterwards I took the train to Bath. Because I arrived in the morning and my apartment studio in Bath is only available after 14:00 I decided to spend a few hours in Bristol.

The driver of the bus that took me from the airport to the city centre was very helpful in giving me tips and directions on where to go for a few hours.

These pictures were taken during my stroll in Bristol. Besides the leisurely walk, I managed to have lunch at the No.1 Harbourside Cafe on the waterfront and took the ferry ride to Hotwells and back where I saw the iconic Georgian houses on the floating harbour of Bristol town. Then it was time to go to the Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station to board the train to Bath.

Bristol is a working city and it reminds me a bit of Rotterdam.

Well thank you Bristol for having me even for a short amount of time. I have enjoyed knowing you a bit in this rather quick visit!

Elegant mansions beside the Queen Square. The buildings are a mix of commercial and residential and many of them have listed building status (historical or of special interest).

This is the Pero's Bridge, a foot bridge connecting the quays of Bristol's floating harbour.
