Foodies
I am tired today, had a really lame day in the office. I wish I win the lotto so I don’t have to work.
Anywho… am not in the mood to write, but would like to share some of the foodies I made last week. Enjoy the pictures!
Mustard soup with toasted brown wheat bread
Balsamic tortellini with broccoli
Dry noodles, my version
2 servings of Greek salad
Asian fried rice with chorizo and egg
Sha,
ReplyDeleteCome over or I go there. I can also do some learning from you, the connoisseur of gourmet and fine dining!
I can see you're a very good cook preparing only the best-healthy-stuffs! Great foods, that tortellini I only make with with home made bolognese sauce.I'm gonna try it with broccoli as well. I usually make my own versions of recipes I see and eat in restaurants or recipes taken from magazines and cook book. If I'm too lazy to make big meals for dinner I only shove seasoned meat in the oven, I make roast at least 3x a week and we only dine in @ home from Mon.-Fri.
ReplyDeleteWow, looks good:)! But, do you split those plates? At my house we're big eaters, we eat about twice the amount of food that was on those plates;)! It's because my mum is a baby-boomer and her parents fed her 2 huge plates of dinner every night, lol!
ReplyDeleteAra, The thing is, I am not really health freak conscious... I just do not like fatty and meaty food. I don't like steaks, burgers, potatoes, too much bread, or too much rice. Last night I made spaghetti bolognese :-). You are like me, a copycat! What kind of meat do you usually roast? A roasted small turkey can go for 2 weeks here at home. 1 kilo of meat can last me a week, thats for the 2 of us. Dutchman complained in the past that he ate little meat but now he is used to it :-). I like meat to be the accent in every dish not the main thing.
ReplyDeleteElentari, Well, the ones on the foto is usually Dutchman's plate since he eats more. And thats it, no more 2nd serving. My plate though has smaller serving. A lot of Dutch people can burn what they eat easily, because they move around a lot, bike a lot, and its just in their genes. I guess you're one of them?
Well, according to my mum we eat more even than the average Dutch person. About twice as much! Everyone I know thinks I eat a lot, yummie:D!
ReplyDeletewhy do i not believe you when you say ... I wish I win the lotto so I don’t have to work?
ReplyDeletemy friends who are multi-millionairs still work. They still work for various reasons, but the common thread: money hasn't changed who they are. I think that you belong to this group who would continue to work, just so you don't forget what office politics is like! besides, office politics can be very comical.
for example, my boss and her flying monkeys are constantly looking for ways to create busy work for us so they look good when reports are due. our department is recognized on the 'thud' factor, and not on quality.
the louder the thud when the monthly report slams on the table, the more "wow" and "oh" and "ah" we hear from outside the boardroom. no one actually opens the report to read it, so it could be all gibberish and no one is the wiser.
Tonight I roast beef brisket with red wine gravy, and cauliflower with grilled red and yellow peppers, sun-dried tomatoes with red wine sauce, plus roast baby potatoes. The reason I made another recipe with red wine was becauseI wanted to use the whole big bottle. I used maybe 50 ml for the raoast beef and 50 ml for the cauliflower. I like Spanish red wines; I drink them almost every night!
ReplyDeleteDL, Thanks! I don't really follow rceipes religiously. I experiment a lot though! If you have questions, just let me know. We can share each other's culinary experiences :-)
ReplyDeleteelentári, Oh my, but you aren't overweight right!? I know people who can eat like a horse and still be thin. I envy them.
Nam, Are you psychic? Hehe. I don't like my job really. I have been working here for 1 year and 7 months and I need some change. I miss what I did in the past, the mental and social challenge, the variety, etc. But if I win the lotto (well Dutchman coz he plays, I don't), I can stop working and devote my time to other things. Maybe take a part time job such as giving cooking lessons hehe.
"no one actually opens the report to read it, so it could be all gibberish and no one is the wiser" - this is funny. I remember in the past making thick proposals and my customers read every word. I would stay up at nights heating my laptop and wake up early because I have a presention to the management or board. I miss those days. *sigh* nostalgia attack
Ara, Wines are good to mix with meat really. I do it sometimes but I go slow on it because the Dutchman doesn't like it too much. Take some fotos of what you made and post in your blog. Wanna see it.
Nope, not overweight:D! I'm about 53/54 kilograms and I'm about 1.60m tall... I'm not really thin, but I'm not overweight, thank GOD! Although, in winter I am always a little bit 'chubbier' than I am in summer, lol!
ReplyDeleteThis looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteHi Jor:) (blame it to sha, hehe)
What made you get lazy to post new topic? you let me down...Nothing to read, huhu.
ReplyDeleteBut I forgive you, I guess, you are still in limbo with the last outing you had with the others in Ams! Ka ka mind blasting ang happenings nyo!

(Wide grin)
Elja, Now I envy you....
ReplyDeleteCheH, Hi there! Thanks and welcome to my virtual world. Yeah Sha just told me about you, she is indeed to be blamed! Haha.
Francesca, My dear, true blues at work. I am drained! It's like Butler nagging at you for straight 8 hours. Well, doncha worry dear, we can party in Nice *wink*
Eva, OK here is what I would suggest for your ground beef and zucchini. Well, in fact its the same as what Sha said. You can use them as pasta sauce. Do you have by the way pasta? If not, mix them together with tomatoes and onions (or leeks), and other herbs... then add soya sauce or whatever you prefer. You can eat them together with rice or pasta. Another alternative is bake it if you have flour and eggs. Put cheese on top as toppings. Yummy!
