The Algarvian SUN SHINES on ME

PRAIA DA OURA in Algarve is LOVELY! But a tad expensive than Greece or Spain.

Dutchman and I have been nightlife-ing the past 3 nights and during the day, strolling, sipping our fave drink by the terras, relaxing, and laying down in the beach.

And what is really cool, they have this popular long road stretch in Praia da Oura, Albufeira called THE STRIP that is full of bars, restos, cafes and such, all filled with blasting neon lights in the evening. I feel like I am in the middle of the Casino strip, hehe. The nice thing, we are only a few minutes away (and also a few minutes from the beach). Simply fantastic.

TODAY MONDAY Dutchman and I are going out of Albufeira and are headed WEST of Algarve. We will try to locate this "end of the world point" they say, which is called CAPE ST. VINCENT. We will also check the charming and ancient villages along the way, and perhaps the other resorts and touristic places.

TOMORROW TUESDAY is our trip to the capital LISBOA (Lisbon/Lissabon). We are not taking the car we rented because they say it takes 3 to 3.5 hours drive, ugh. So instead, we signed up for a bus tour. The disadvantage is that we have to wake up really early, a challenge for us lazybutts, and be at the pick up place 6:30AM sharp :-(. Anywho, I am looking forward to enjoy the country's city. I am kinda excited!

THEN WEDNESDAY, we will probably drive to the EAST of Algarve and taste the eastern culture it has to offer. I am eyeing at this "Gypsy Market" that they have every Wednesdays and this "Algarvian Evening" with traditional cuisine and dancing thereafter. I am also eyeing the 2 hour drive to SEVILHA (Sevilla), the beautiful historical southern city of Spain near the border of Portugal. Hmm, I have to convince my cheesy Dutchman to drive me around. A daunting task, I suppose. Wish me luck!

    good to know you guys are having a blast!!!! that's great! i know it's nice to get away and do nothing. i wish you all the luck that the dutchman drives you around. sounds like a fantastic place to visit and to have an R&R - and party at the same time. lol.

Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion.
