That afternoon I came home sweating profusely like a pig. I just had to do something. I feel like I am losing my sanity from the heat.

Thirty minutes later I heard a turning of the key sound coming from the front door.

“Oops... ” Chuckles the Dutchman with a sneaky grin displayed on his mouth as he walks into the living room. “Am I lost in a nudist camp?”

“Oh yeah, you bet you are!”

P.S. The heatwave is over!!! And as expected, the Netherlands is back to normal weather programming --- cold, gloomy, windy and wet. It might be strange, but I am actually V-E-R-Y glad. This tropical duckling has really become Dutched.

My friend Bubbles, whom I was travelling with in the Balkans, had a request that we stop over at Medjugorje. We got lucky because Medjugorje was on the way to Dubrovnik, Croatia, which is our next stop. Half an hour into our driving, we reached Medjugorje. Parking was not easy to find, but we struck lucky and found a space not too far away from the Saint James Church. Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion. This legendary scene is called ‘Samudra Manthan’ in other words in English – the ‘Churning of the Ocean of Milk’.
