Hi! I have been busy travelling around Jordan. Here are some postcards I am leaving for the blog, hopefully this will encourage those with itchy feet to plan a trip to this beautiful country. More stories and fotos when I am back. Soon.

Magnificent Petra, the Nabatean Rose-Red City in Wadi Mousa. This is 'The Treasury' on the foto, all carved out from a boulder by hand.

Driving on the desert highway. Jordan is bordered by Iraq to the east and Saudi Arabia to the east and south (Israel to the west and Syria to the north). It sounds a bit surreal to know Iraq is just a few hours drive and Syria up north is currently going through major clashes. Here in Jordan, everything is peaceful and the locals are wonderful.

My friend Bubbles, whom I was travelling with in the Balkans, had a request that we stop over at Medjugorje. We got lucky because Medjugorje was on the way to Dubrovnik, Croatia, which is our next stop. Half an hour into our driving, we reached Medjugorje. Parking was not easy to find, but we struck lucky and found a space not too far away from the Saint James Church. Medjugorje or Medugorje is a world-famous Catholic pilgrimage site due to the Our Lady of Medjugorje, who claimed to have seen a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, to 6 Bosnian children at  Križevac Hill .

Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion. This legendary scene is called ‘Samudra Manthan’ in other words in English – the ‘Churning of the Ocean of Milk’.
