Dinner at Restaurant Café du Vaudeville in Galeries Royales Saint Hubert
The restaurant was once a theatre circa late 1800’s located in Brussels’ famous shopping arcade, Galeries Royales Saint Hubert, on the passage called Galeries de la Reina. Here is an excerpt from the website of Restaurant Cafe du Vaudeville:
‘At the centre of the Galeries de la Reine, in what was once a theatre, and then a nighclub, the Vaudeville has recently re-emerged as an intimate and attractive restaurant combining all the necessary ingredients to become one of Brussels’ new hotspots.’

We did not have dinner at the Queen’s Gallery (which is a shame because its a stunning piece of theatre) but at one of the grand rooms that looks down to the shopping arcade. My male colleagues were all complaining that the leather upholstered chairs were very low, as well as the table. The table and chairs could have been made for small people, haha.
I ordered seafood of course.
Starters: Croquettes with North Sea shrimps (4.5 stars out of 5)

Someone stole my camera and wants revenge... it is always fun to be around the guys. Humor can be rough but I am used to it.

Mains: Fillet of salmon with baby spinach and white-beer-and-butter sauce (4 stars out of 5)
Dessert: Crème Brulee (4 stars out of 5)
We occupied a large part of the grand room and I sat with the guys, the sales team actually. All men. I am used to the male company, being always the only woman in the sales team. In the IT world, which is a very man’s world here in the Netherlands, female sales people are hard to come by.
I like being around with men actually. They are low maintenance, they do not quickly fly off the handle, they do not take things personally and they do not try to read minds. No drama. Nada. They are simple beasts =)
Most of the guys had Beef Carbonade for their mains and the Squidgy chocolate cake for dessert. They were raving that it’s the restaurant’s best signature dish. And the squidgy cake? They were all in heaven.
