So I went boating in Copenhagen...

Because they say that Copenhagen is like Amsterdam, what with all the bikes and the canals.


However, I must disagree though. Firstly, there are more bikes in Amsterdam and that goes with crazy bike traffic and suicide maneuvering bikers. Secondly, there of course more canals in Amsterdam.

So anyway, I took the boat trip. I was curious and I get it anyway for free with the cOPENhagen card. Well, nothing is really free in life, I paid for the cOPENhagen card. Might as well make the most of what it offers.

In the end I’m quite glad that I have taken part of this boat tour because I was able to see other parts of Copenhagen that I will not be able to quickly see on foot. Below are some of the pictures I took during the boat ride.

Børsen - the imposing former stock exchange building


The best restaurant in the world 2012, NOMA, is located at the back of this building.


Passing Nyhavn (New Haven).


The Opera House (Operaen).


Apartments on the haven with an interesting design... the building stands on pillars and has open-air corridors and you can basically dock your boat below.


I forgot what these buildings are but I think they used to be warehouses. Now they are private and the buildings are considered as heritage architecture thus they are protected.


A pretty viking replica ship.


The 'Little Mermaid' (Den Lille Havfrue) in Lengelinie, Copenhagen. The boats stops here actually and you can get out but I didn't see any reason to spend more time with the mermaid. I honestly do not understand why tourists are enamoured with her?


Taking a peek of the Amalienborg, the winter palace of the Royal Danish Family.

OK, I jumped out of the boat here in Christianshavn...

So, did I enjoy the boat tour? Its okay. More of Copenhagen next.

My friend Bubbles, whom I was travelling with in the Balkans, had a request that we stop over at Medjugorje. We got lucky because Medjugorje was on the way to Dubrovnik, Croatia, which is our next stop. Half an hour into our driving, we reached Medjugorje. Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion. This legendary scene is called ‘Samudra Manthan’ in other words in English – the ‘Churning of the Ocean of Milk’.
