Bijenkorf Eindhoven on Piazza

I always go to Eindhoven for work (1.5 hours drive from Amsterdam). Just this week I was there twice. My business partners are usually located in the industrial areas and because I am there for work I rarely discover the nice places, like the city centre for example.

Just recently I needed to buy a gift for the brother-in-law who celebrated his 51st birthday so that's an opportunity to swing by at the Bijenkorf in Eindhoven city centre. Luckily, the department store closes at 18:30.


So that is how I came to know the address PIAZZA. Bijenkorf Eindhoven is located on Piazza 1, just on the corner. It is the green building, and there is parking nearby. Parking rates are much better than in Utrecht and Amsterdam.

The store is quite big, and I was really impressed with the collection of brands here at the Eindhoven branch. It is much better than Utrecht. They have a big collection from MaxMara! I was so tempted to buy but I didn't have time as I still have to attend the brother-in-law's family birthday celebration. Lots of leather goods from many signature brands here as well. I am so coming back.

Well, hopefully if I find the time at all? Which is always the recurring problem, other than me being a perpetual lazy bunny when it comes to shopping. Which brings me to the subject of online shopping as well---I am so not here yet! I would rather plan my next travel, blog and ogle at my photos =)

My friend Bubbles, whom I was travelling with in the Balkans, had a request that we stop over at Medjugorje. We got lucky because Medjugorje was on the way to Dubrovnik, Croatia, which is our next stop. Half an hour into our driving, we reached Medjugorje. Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion. This legendary scene is called ‘Samudra Manthan’ in other words in English – the ‘Churning of the Ocean of Milk’.
