What we did at Tryp Cayo Coco
So Blondine and I had some mojitos and we sighted some flamingos and a peacock and peahen courtship, we also went to check out the beach.
We were told that it rained earlier in the afternoon, in fact we could still see pools of water all over the resort, but hey, the beach still looked very lovely. The sand was so fine, it reminds me of the beaches in the Philippines.
We took pictures of ourselves of course. As it was late in the afternoon we didn’t change into swimwear anymore. We are not beach nuts really. We’ll just chill at the lobby café with some cocktails.
There were 4 restaurants located in the resort and for each of these restaurants you are required to reserve at least a day in advance. We were craving for some Cuban Creole cuisine so we asked the guy at the reception if he could help us. He did some calls and told us that we have seats available at the Creole restaurant.
Thank you! Happy, we went back to our table at the lobby and continued drinking our mojitos.
Now, the resort’s buffet restaurant is located just near the lobby. A lot of people were already walking in to the buffet restaurant. Our curiosity got into us so we joined in the line, we were curious what kind of food they are serving. When we reached the buffet counters, we were speechless. Ahhhhh, so many fresh seafood! I am drooling now!!!
In short, Blondine and I changed our minds and dined instead at the buffet restaurant. Here’s my first plate:
And these are my two plates for the evening: Lobster, crabs, shrimps, clams, vegies, etcetera.The seafood were so fresh. I have never eaten so much in the entire holiday. Total debauchery, I felt like a glutton.
If the beach resort was a minus, such as being stuck in the 50's and 60's with no renovation done and with very little up-keep, the lovely fresh seafood here at the buffet restaurant compensates for all of it. I could eat the same thing the next evening. Unfortunately, we are leaving the next day.
After dinner, we had coffee and more mojitos and people watching at the lobby when the entertainment started. Check out this video below:

So basically that is our afternoon and evening at Hotel Trip Cayo Coco. We didn’t stayed up late. We didn’t finish the entertainment as well. It was too noisy for our liking.
Like Cinderalla, we retreated to bed just in time.
