Booked: TALLINN, Estonia & HELSINKI-PORVOO, Finland and SAMOS, Greece & KUSADASI-EPHESUS, Turkey
My original plan for our big spring-May holiday was to go to North America, a combination of city trip, road trip and nature trip: Toronto, Canada – Niagara Falls – Finger Lakes, USA – New York City, USA. Unfortunately life gets in the way and this is being put on hold due to pressing work related matters. Cannot have everything we want in life. Dutchman and I will do this another time.
But still on spring travel...
Instead, I am going to do another solo trip this May, to 2 countries where I have never set foot before in the northern part of Europe:
TALLIN, Estonia
HELSINKI, Finland
PORVOO, Finland
Flights with KLM booked, itinerary almost there and just need to finalise hotel bookings.
I will be flying in to Tallin, stay here for a few days, then I will be taking the high-speed boat from Tallinn to Helsinki. I will stay for a few days in Helsinki and visit Porvoo as well, the oldest town in Finland. Then I fly out of Helsinki back to Amsterdam. I’m looking forward to experiencing the northern culture, the food, its architecture and nature. And maybe, just maybe, sauna... and reindeer meat. I am excited!
Other spring plans
Since Thursday next week is a holiday, and I can always take Friday off making it a 4-day long weekend, I am thinking of embarking on another road trip. This time to MUNICH, Germany and SALZBURG, Austria, however I am not decided just yet. For days I have been researching tirelessly about this trip and the possibilities make me so fired up but sometimes I just have this guilty feeling nagging at me all the time—‘Girl, WTF? You are travelling again and spending all that money?’. Then I go back and forth with this guilt feeling hanging above me like a dark cloud, begging and trying to reason out—‘But I need to grab every chance I can get to travel (especially with the public holidays) and live in the moment!’ Then I have splitting moments of truth that slaps me to reality—‘Hello? Resources are fine so why the heck am I worrying?!’.
Anyway, I am still not over the guilt hump but I will probably know this weekend if I am going or not. Moreover, this will be yet another solo road trip (ugh, I miss Blondine) and I hate to leave the Dutchman alone. He doesn’t really mind—he always encourages me to pursue the things I love doing, under the condition that it will be at my own cost of course. Right, life is grand. I have never been lucky with sugar daddies.
Nevertheless, I love the freedom we give to each other in our relationship. I would not ask the world any other. The Dutchman is just perfect for me. I would go nuts if my man starts regulating my life especially my travel sprees.
And our summer holiday!
Because we have fallen in love with the Greek archipelago, Dutchman and I are again going back to the islands! We’ve booked a 15-day holiday in June and July in the island of Samos and we will be doing side trips to Turkey.

I told Dutchman that there is only 1 condition whenever we holiday back in the Greek islands, and that is not going back to the same island we have been to. I will probably take Crete as an exemption because it has been ages since I was there and I have only seen one side of the island.
So I am already doing lots of research about Samos. I am really excited with this holiday because although I love active travelling, there is a part of me that longs for the slow and relaxed way of travelling. And when Dutchman is with me on holiday, he is best at this relaxing game, well basically that is doing nothing, haha.

My father turns 70 in August and the parents want me to come home to CEBU, Philippines for the big celebration.
Then mom called me a week ago and told me that she is booking our HONGKONG family trip and I went like—‘WAIT! I haven’t booked my flights yet!’ She booked it anyway and now I am feeling the pressure...
