I was food poisoned in the Philippines, treated in Singapore and now in Malaysia
I guess I was an accident waiting to happen!
So I had food poisoning in the Philippines. The day before leaving for Singapore I became really sick, with fever and chills. I was bedridden and slept like a koala bear the whole day and into the night. At this point we did not know that I was food poisoned. My mother was already thinking of cancelling our flight. It was that bad.
When we arrived in Singapore my fever came back and my body was again asking for sleep. Lots of sleep, I never went near anywhere except the bed. And I reeked with vinegar. My mom did a vinegar hot compress on me (she said apple cider was better but she used what was readily available at the house) and I was not allowed to take a bath (really!). I think the whole airplane smelled vinegar during our flight? lol
Worried, my mother insists we visit the nearest open clinic or hospital from my sister's place in Singapore. So to cut the story short, I got treated and was given medications which includes antibiotics and a diet plan - not to eat anything spicy, oily and food with milk.
Medicines given to me by the friendly Singaporean doctor.
When my mother informed the doctor that we are going to Malaysia, he said, 'Ayayayay!' Haha!
You see Malaysian food is very spicy. Malaysians don't know any better other than spicy, hot, and extra chilli. Even when you say, not spicy please, well they will of course omit the chilli, but they will still add lots of pepper into the dish. There is no escape.
Anyways, I am in Malaysia right now and enjoying the country at the pace of my parents (turtle pace, I am not kidding lol). I am well and have since started eating, just a little bit though, spicy fares =)
At the St. Paul's Church Ruins in Malacca, Malaysia.
My parents and moi in popular shopping heaven in Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang.
