Rental Fiat500 in Girona: How to Improvise
Last year (2013) in November I was in the north of Spain and my holiday base was Girona. I combined this trip with a visit to Carcassone in the south of France as well as a Barcelona day trip and a road trip to Figueres, Besalu and Cadaques.
I took the train to Barcelona and Carcassone but for the road trip I rented a car. The rental agency said they have a little Fiat car available for me. I did not know what to expect. I have been renting cars during my travels so I do not usually get excited about them, they are just transport, after all I always pick the entry level ones. I mean what is the use in renting a more expensive car? I do not sleep in it so it does not make sense to splurge.
But when the little Fiat car was delivered to me I just could not help but let out an AAWWWWWW!
THE LITTLE CAR IS JUST TOO CUTE TO HANDLE. It is like a toy! I was really tempted to buy one when I came back to the Netherlands, haha.
The rental car was also brand new with just a few hundred kilometres driven on it. Fiat did not sponsor me nor I love cars, but this one is just too cute to pass and not post. I really had a good time and had lots of fun driving this little lovely thing. It has a skylight roof and the colour white was perfect.
Because the car is small, the trunk is naturally small as well. My luggage does fit in well at the back but I could not close the back door, so I had to use some creative imagination. My colourful shawl came handy and I used it to tie the car's back door in place.
The guy at the rental agency had to smile when he saw my little improvisation =)
