Greece: Lovely Panoramic View of Parga from the Castle Ruins

Dutchman and I took a day boat trip to Parga from Corfu Island last summer. The seaside town is colourful and beautiful especially when you view it from an aerial perspective.


In order to do this, one must climb all the the way up to the Parga castle ruins. Just follow the inner winding shopping cobbled street going up and then turn left to the castle ruins. There’s a café at the top where one can enjoy a drink while taking in the fantastic panoramic view of Parga.

Ah, I could just sit here for a long time you know but the Dutchman is waiting for me down at the harbour. Helaas. *reality wake up*

Parga is located in mainland Greece, on the north western part facing the Ionian Sea.

My friend Bubbles, whom I was travelling with in the Balkans, had a request that we stop over at Medjugorje. We got lucky because Medjugorje was on the way to Dubrovnik, Croatia, which is our next stop. Half an hour into our driving, we reached Medjugorje. Bangkok, Thailand: The Story Behind the Impressive Serpent Statue at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport

If you fly out from the new Bangkok ‘Suvarnabhumi’ International Airport, the huge, colourful and impressive mythical statue popular in Thai and Indian culture, the 3-headed serpent Naga (his name Vasuki) in a spectacular tug-of-war scene with its mid-section body wrapped around a stone, which is actually a mountain, and Vishnu one of the supreme deities in Hindu is sitting on top, will greet you as you finish immigration and step inside the airport’s duty free shopping area. You just have to stop and be dazzled by it. The whole installation is impressive and as I took pictures I wondered what the story is behind this scene. After much googling around, I found out that the statue is very famous in Hindu culture and religion. This legendary scene is called ‘Samudra Manthan’ in other words in English – the ‘Churning of the Ocean of Milk’.
