England, UK: The Beautiful Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station in Tudor Style
When I went to Bath, England last March, I had to pass via Bristol. Bristol Airport is the closest airport to Bath, and Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station is a direct connection to Bath Spa Railway Station with only 14 minutes travel time and are going every 20 minutes. Moreover, there are several flights daily from Amsterdam to Bristol.
My flight also arrived in the morning and my studio in Bath is only available after 14:00, so I decided to spend a few hours and a lunch in Bristol. I have never been in the city and it’s along the way anyway, so why not grab the chance to experience a new place, right? I took the £7 bus from the airport to the city centre and befriended the coach driver who gave me valuable tips on how to arrange my lunch and short sightseeing.
The railway station is just a 10-minute walk to Bristol’s harbourside where many bars, cafes and restaurants are located. So everything fell into the right place for me. And just before 15:00 I was at the station waiting for my ride to Bath.
Temple Meads Railway Station is quite pretty. It was opened in 1840 and is designed in Tudor architectural style. It is a lovely piece of architecture in Bristol and if you are passing here, don’t forget to linger a bit to appreciate its historical beauty.
I also noticed so many taxis parked outside the station. It makes me wonder how these taxi chauffeurs make a living, especially with the entrance of technology and other options (uber?) in the industry. It reminds me of the postman and the post office...

It is just 14 minutes with the train from Bristol Temple Meads to Bath Spa and the train services go every 20 minutes. Perfect.
