Chic Lunch at 360 Istanbul in Beyoglu

One of the ‘hip’ and ‘cool’ places to go in Istanbul with amazing views of the city is 360 Istanbul in Beyoglu.

In a way it is a relief  to be here having lunch whilst it is raining cats and dogs outside. I reasoned out that in the end I am not really missing a lot because of the rain.  

I spent my Saturday morning in Fatih at the Basilica Cistern afterwhich I went back to my hotel in Beyoglu for a quick freshening up. My plan was to have lunch at the 360 Istanbul and enjoy the lovely panoramic views of the city, and afterwards I am going to the Galata neighbourhood nearby to watch the Whirling Dervishes dance ritual. While I was freshening up at the hotel, it rained. It rained hard. Nobody really likes rain in their holidays. I began to worry that I might not be able to enjoy this lunch with a view.

The 360 Istanbul restaurant, bar and club is located on Istiklal Avenue which was quite near to my hotel. In a way it is a relief that whilst it is raining hard outside, I am here inside this lovely penthouse restaurant safe and sound. There was very little view to offer for my lunch as I am only seeing a grey silhouette of the city. However, my gut feel tells me that the rain will clear up in an hour or so.

If you are in for some fun, it’s best to come here in the evening as there is live entertainment and dancing. I didn’t want that kind of action though. I just want to have lunch in peace and enjoy the 360 degree views of the city.

The rain did cleared up after an hour, and I was able to enjoy the 360 view of Istanbul from its balcony.

A very greyish weather lunch this is.

This was some kind of fish ceviche with dill, citroen dressing and mustard mayo. 

Tiny buttery muffins.

A very pretty dessert, a frozen ice cream in raspberry compote wrapped around a pastry and a cloud of meringue. Too sweet for me though.

The rain has stopped and the skies have started to clear up.

It is one of the nice places in Istanbul to hang out.
