Balkan Roadtrip - Where we stayed in Sarajevo: Villa Melody
Because Sarajevo is still up and coming in the tourism sector, prices of hotels in the city are very reasonable. However, the choices are very limited.
Bubbles and I will be arriving in the city with a car, so a free inside the premises of the hotel parking place is on the top of the list, followed by easy access to everything and lastly, we prefer a hotel that is modern and hygienic (at least in the pictures).
This is how we ended up choosing for Villa Melody. We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days.
I did some research beforehand and read that car theft and vandalism can be an issue, although we didn’t notice it, perhaps because we have been very mindful about where we parked the car. Nonetheless, in Sarajevo, we made sure to have a hotel that has a secure and inside of the hotel premises parking. Of course, it must be free as well. Villa Melody ticks this requirement.
Secondly, the distance from the hotel to the old town is important to us. We would have preferred to stay in the core centre of the old town but then we would have problems with car parking, so the nearest to the city centre came as the best next choice.
Villa Melody is located just a few hundred meters from Baskarsija (Old Town). The walking distance is doable and we didn’t mind the short walk. Taxi cabs, however, are very cheap in Sarajevo, so if you are feeling lazy to walk, just call a cab. We did a few times when we went out for dinner, as well as when it rained one morning.
Bubbles and I were also very keen on staying in hygienic places. The hotel or apartment, and in this case villa, must be clean and hygienic looking, at least in the pictures. Plus points if it's new and with a good interior design and ambience. Well, looking at the pictures, we were sold!

Lastly, the reviews of Villa Melody and the price were all good.
We liked our stay here at Villa Melody. The breakfast was not the best but it’s alright. I am personally not a huge breakfast person, however, the breakfast area’s terrace has great views of the hills surrounding the city. If the weather is nice, I suggest sitting on the outdoor terrace for breakfast.
Moreover, we appreciate the lovely and very friendly receptionist Alma (as pictured with me below) who was always in for a good chat. She was very helpful in booking our dinners and cab rides. Bubbles was very fond of her. Thank you so much! You have made our stay in Villa Melody wonderful.

The location:
It is approximately 8 minutes walking from the hotel to Sebilj (Pigeon Square) in Baskarsija (Old Town). It is not too far away.

Lastly, the reviews of Villa Melody and the price were all good.
