Dinner at the Chic ‘Olive Lounge Restaurant’ in Lourdas, Kefalonia
This restaurant in Lourdas is always busy!
When we first came here we couldn’t get a table. We were told to wait for half an hour so instead we went to the beach and had dinner at Lorraine’s. I have to admit though that the view at Lorraine’s Magic Hill Restaurant was stunning and much, much better than here at the Olive Lounge.
So the next time we came to Olive Lounge Restaurant we made sure to come a bit early. I wanted to have a nicer table on the main terrace where you have the stunning view of Mt. Aenos (Mount Ainos) but helaas all the tables were full. Why is this restaurant so popular?!
We ordered the local sausage with peppers and onions for our shared starter. Then Dutchman had a Gyros Pita whilst I went for the Grilled Swordfish. Both dishes came with a mix salad and fried potato chips. You can tell that the potato chips were freshly made from cut potatoes and not some deep frozen ones.
We are happy to report that the food at this restaurant is quite good. Which is perhaps the reason why if you do not come early, you will have a hard time getting a table. If you come here at past 20:00 you will have to wait, at least half an hour. It is that popular. It is also one of the very few restaurants we have seen that accepts credit card.
I think the owner was the lady who took all the orders. She is Greek-English I believe as she definitely looked Greek and I heard her speak Greek as well but she has the English twang when she spoke English. A fired up lady and always on her toes, running around, serving customers and throwing a big smile and a laugh at everyone. She is perfect for the role.

The restaurant is located on a slope, with its outdoor terrace above the travel agency and rental car office. It has a beautiful view of Mount Ainos.
We couldn't help but eavesdrop on the conversation of these 3 Dutch girls. One of them just broke up with the boyfriend and it was the topic of the whole evening.

It is a nice and chic restaurant in Lourdata, located in the upper village (not the seaside village) on the main street.
Our dinner has arrived! The potato chips were very nice.
Dutchman's Gyros Pita. I think this was chicken.
My main is a Grilled Swordfish with some feta. This ws very good.
Then some coffee to close the dinner.
