An Evening Queen's Walk along London's River Thames
Back in March of last year (2015), I did an evening stroll on the bankside of the the River Thames in London. From Southwark all the way to Westminster.
Actually, I did not know this Queen's Walk existed, I just happened to walk on this route and thought I would walk all the way to the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Here is the route though: The Queen's Walk. Hmm, all the more reason to do this again during the day.
On this particular day I did not eat a lot. I only had a croissant in the morning and a not so huge walking lunch in the nearby Borough Market, however, I still felt full and instead of having dinner, I did the evening walk. The walk was quite safe.
When you are alone in your travels, I noticed that it makes going out for dinner a bit challenging. I do eat dinner most of the times in restaurants during my solo travels, but with a big city like London where going to good restaurants need a reservation, it just somehow felt different this time. I don't quite like reserving a table for 1 person, I prefer to just walk in. Many London restaurants are also busy and happening, so having a table for yourself just sounds a bit boring. I need a travel buddy who is not high maintenance. Who wants to apply?
As it was rather late, I took the tube back from Westminster to Southwark. Then I walked back to my hotel (Hilton Tower Bridge) on More London Place and had some Mojitos at the Two Ruba Lounge.
Pictures are not so great. You know I only have a pocket camera.
